Cronos uses some of the greatest codes to solve a problem, usually known in Academic Literature as the Timetabling Problem. The Timetabling Problem consists of making matches between teachers and students in a period of time, usually a week, in a way that groups or restrictions can be solved in different ways.
The first version of this code was presented as a Term Paper for a Computer Science Course at Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA) and published at international events (http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1192702) in 2006.
The commercial launch of Cronos, made by 4cis Sistemas, happened at the end of 2011, where more than 500 educational institutions have registered in the system. Since then, 4cis Sistemas is always improving the interface as well as making important changes and upgrades in the Cronos code. Currently, we have more than 40,000 educational institutions enrolled.
